Ms. Melissa Chapman
After being called to teach on her first day of kindergarten, Melissa Chapman officially started her career in education in 1997. She graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor's in Education with a Reading Specialization and is a certified Master Reading Teacher. After teaching reading for 20+ years at Vincent Middle School, she came to ECHS in 2019 to teach Path College and Career I (PCC). Ms. Chapman was named the BISD Secondary Teacher of the Year in 2016, the 2022-2023 ECHS Teacher of the Year, and has won the Reaud Award in Excellence in Education in 2025. In addition to sponsoring Club Interact, Ms. Chapman serves as PCC Department Lead and 504 Campus Coordinator. She can be reached at mchapma@bmtisd.com.
